"second most dangerous survivalist in Australia" I reckon he looks like a big sook! There is no way in the World I would be caught dead in that pose if I was supposedly the "second most dangerous survivalist in Australia"! Scruffy prick too, needs to stop shopping for clothes at Woolies and get himself some quality outdoor / tactical garb as would befit such a bad arse "Survivalist"!

It depends where you are in Texas. We're about 50 mi SW of Ft. Worth, and running high on this year's rainfall. Prickly bushes? Yup, got those too! We're not too far from Waco. If you ever get over here, the guestroom is ready for you and the missus... and bring your golf clubs too...

Great piece of real estate in that part of the world! frostbite, it's worth the $$ to visit Texas.

"frostbite, it's worth the $$ to visit Texas." Last time I tried for a visa to enter the US it took 8 months and 3 anal probings. The benefit of being classed by Homeland Security as a lesson of 'low moral turpitude'. But if I ever get back there, Texas and the Knob Hill machine gun shoot will be high on my list. Don't sweat it! After Texas secedes, I'll put in a good word for you to Gov. Greg Abbott...

I'm so glad you built a proper frame structure for the roof; I've seen too many people fix roof sheets directly through the roofs of containers...

Another weekend away with a group of 8, testing how the retreat would cope if we had to bugout. Went well, apart from one lady blocking my sewer pipe with wet wipes. Easily resolved. A bit of progress made on the gabions, and a light installed above the outdoor eating area.

Another annual prepper meet held at the retreat. Only 9 adults and my 2 grandchildren this year, as covid prevented a few from attending. Weather was mainly overcast or wet, but we still had a great time. One rabbit wandered within 40m of the campfire and was headshot and tuned into dinner, and we're starting to see deer at the property.

I finally got around to getting a canoe for the property. It's old but reliable with a wide bottom (much like the mrs actually) and it adds a whole new dimension to the river. It will make transporting drums for caching upstream much easier. We also have finally finished the 2 downstairs bedrooms. From bare metal shed to this:

Wow, that's fantastic! I assume you did the work yourself, did it end up costing a lot? Ahhh the dreams I have for a bugout location... *sigh* haha.

The shed company erected the bare shed, but I've done everything else myself except the electrical wiring. That was done by a few friends who are electricians. The whole place, including land, cabin, 2 shipping containers (one with window and pa door), roof over the containers, solar panels and batteries, water tanks, retaining wall, fencing etc has probably cost $160k. I rejected an offer of 400k last year

Starting to see deer on the property: Common mistake, you've spelled it wrong. I believe you meant to write 'venison stew'

Starting to see deer on the property: --- --- Nice build... Good pictures.. Curious.... What kind of deer is that.. A Eruopean deer ?? Something unique to the island ?? How would it compare to North American white tail, or black tail (commonly called mule deer) ?? We have both white tail and black tail here in far north central BC.. And along the Pacific coast and inside passages they have a small deer that is a Sitka deer, or close relative to that...
