The video of the children suffering from the nerve agent is pretty horrific. I'm glad the US responded - I'm equally glad that they informed Australia and Russia prior to launching the Tomahawks.

The whole thing is horrific. I hope they blamed the [expletive] [derogatory term] who were actually responsible and didn't get duped by false reports.

I just think the whole thing is one horrific joke that has gone on for far too long lets be honest someone uses gas and everyone gets all uppity about it and takes action meanwhile the residence of Damascus have endured countless motor attacks and suicide bombing by terrorist er I mean moderate rebels sorry I get confused as I always equate using car bombs and suicide bombers to terrorist not legitimist opposition forces funded and armed by the west and aligned with known terror organisations
In the end it will be innocent people who pay the long term price when they have been um liberated Libya 2.0
I just want to add that I personally feel that military intervention is not the solution I have spoke to Syrians that have made Australia their home and for most part the general consensus is if there is not a political solution by the Syrian people there is no future for Syria and they did pose a good question where was the wests outrage when hundreds and hundreds Syrian Christians were being butchered by the moderate rebels ?
maybe we do need to glass the whole region for a some peace and quite

I wrote this elsewhere this morning before the news of the Yanks sending missiles.
I smell a false flag event. Assad is winning, ISIS and the rebels are pretty much done. Why would he do something stupid like this? Who benefits? Well the rebels might, at the least it's good PR for them but if the US wades in on their side they are back on a roll.
And if the Yanks do wade in, how long before a Russian is killed? And what will be the Russians response to that? Let's just say that if you are a Vodka drinker I'd start stocking up.

As I mentioned in the shoutbox -- I'm wondering how much the timing has to do with China's president meeting with Trump this week? Was it a coincidence that just after Trump told the world the US would unilaterally act against North Korea if China didn't do something just a couple of days ago, that he now orders a missile strike without yet having actually confirmed what the chemical was and who used it?

Early reports indicate a few Russian deaths. 59 missiles targeting one airfield - must be the total destruction of that airfield. Not sure what Trump's plan is maybe just a punishment for using chem weapons and there is no further escalation. The issues is that it has caused all reaming trust between the USA and Russia to be lost, this has very grave consequences. Earlier in the week I posted on a thread were there was some discussion on nuclear war, well this interesting articarticle just came out. "Nuclear War Much More Likely" Paul Craig Roberts: In Dangerous World, Putin Will Not Trust Americawww.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-06/nuclear-war-much-more-likely-paul-craig-roberts-dangerous-world-putin-will-not-trust

Would the damage to trust have been reduced by the prior notice given to Russia by the USA about the [then] impending missile strikes?

And what will be the Russians response to that? Let's just say that if you are a Vodka drinker I'd start stocking up. The Russians said they bombed the weapon depot and gas leaked, no idea of course, much like I have no idea what happened. It's odd that HD/movie quality video was casually streaming out of a war-torn nation via wifi/internet, you'd think the networks would be disrupted and/or controlled. It's great that Turkey provided the info, who are quite against Assad, and how they had medical supplies on the ready, oddly no gloves to protect against contamination. UN inspectors said no chemical weapons inside Syria... though couldn't check the rebel area. It's quite a risky situation and as I've joked at before as a measure [though I'd do it if we were there], I haven't started digging a shelter in the backyard yet. Ultimately I oppose this, we ought keep out of any entanglement in the middle-east in all ways, let them screw with each other, with perhaps 1 exception, ISIS.
