So ... while western countries are messing around with Solar and wind, or fracking the sh!t out of their lands trying to extract the last drops of oil and marveling over the latest iCrap pointless technology ... China is pouring its resources into achieving a working Fusion reactor and seems to be ahead of the international pack working on a similar project in France. Some days I wonder if we might be hitched to the losing side of history. www.bbc.com/news/blogs-china-blog-43792655futurism.com/artificial-sun-china-temperature-record

Australia needs to seriously invest in nuclear power, or at least Thorium reactors at a minimum, which burn cleaner then regular nuclear. We have a mostly geographically stable country so we don't have the dramas such as Fukushima which was built out on a peninsular for some reason, and technology has come in leaps and bounds so there won't be another Chernobyl. These so called "green energies" are nothing but a crowd pleaser for cheap green votes and has resulted in the massive spike in power costs over the last few years. All we require is solid base load power which is achieved through either HELE(high energy low emission) coal power, nuclear or thorium.

The Chinese could unleash "limitless energy" simply by reversing their "one child" policy...
