I've been increasing my food preps recently as well, because rising global population and unsettled weather patterns don't bode well.
Also about to start a seed store, because if food prices rise dramatically then every man and his hoe will be growing his own, escalating seed prices as well.

I think we actually import quite a bit of seed for our horticultural crops - so good move to get supplies of that while global supply chains are running normally. Stock up on a few containers of insecticide and fungicide from a rural re-seller as well. Those will become very useful and valuable in event of a long term supply chain disruption. Large amounts of these products come out of Asian factories - when SCS goes hot the loss of that supply will see global shortages develop. Same again for mineral fertiliser.
On a different note: Did you end up sorting the sheep situation out? Did the original owner give you a few to keep?

The sheep wandered onto someone elses land, but were replaced by 8 healthy looking steers with no tags. I suspect they've been let loose to feed on my paddock and crown land, rather than buying feed.
It was a little inconvenient, becausr I'd taken down part of the fence around the cabin to allow the concrete trucks access, and there was cow shit all around the cabin. Luckily this time they hadn't rubbed up against my glass sliding door.
If they break the glass I'm turning one of them into steak as compensation.

As some of the ace veggie growers on the forum have indicated before its a good idea to get some practise growing from seed (& heirloom seeds at that) before your life depends on it.
