survivalstorehouse: We did a lot of taste tests - its all vanilla shortbread taste - Mainstay was good because it held moisture and so wasn't thirst provoking - but yeah you had to be pretty hungry to enjoy it :-)

myrrph: I have been thinking about savoury long life survival food coz I am not a big fan of sweet stuff. but you're right, the thirst factor is a major point. I've tried making pemmican (and failed) now gonna try hard tack (like at last!).

Tri-Polar: Plenty of time to do some weeding, since i spent an hour today and barely made a dent. But QLD, so no lockdown. But if we did, ammunition supply is essential, thus still going to work.

Jul 23, 2021 19:30:43 GMT 10
Tri-Polar: What an afternoon. 4 hours of trying to set up and position my 4g directional antenna (1hour to drive into town for fittings and back). Sealed up hole and roof. Then realize i forgot to re run my VHF/UHF antenna wire.

The Survivalist Series by A. American. The first novel is called Going Home.
Getting this for my Kindle now.
Going home series is well written, to the point you are lying in bed and saying "ok to the end of this chapter...Ok one more chapter" The first half of Going Home (book1) is a little in your face with product names and such about what he has in his kit, but halfway through the book it gets away from that style.
Going Home Surviving Home Escaping Home Forsaking Home Resurrecting Home Enforcing Home Avenging Home
The last 2 I am waiting for signed copies bought directly off A. American
I think book 7 is the last ion the series, as he has starting writing 2 new series of books as well, from the same event, but on the other side of the country to where Going Home took place.
By failing to prepare you are preparing to fail. -- Ben Franklin
Smart luck is when you work your arse off, so when the opportunity presents itself, you don't have to pray for dumb luck.
