Perhaps showing my age here but I've never driven one...
I only buy manuals though and have driven plenty of old cranes/tractors so I guess I could work it out?
Maybe I'm the zombie food on this one lol

Maybe I'm the zombie food on this one lol My ute was older than me π when I was a teenager (apparently back in the old days ππ) very few of us had vehicles that were under 10 years old. And some of us purposely went for a certain vintage of vehicle. B&S utes looked way better in that vintage π

Anyone who hasn't changed an engine in the backyard with a swing set frame and a length of chain hasn't really lived. Na, we had a makeshift crane made with 3 lengths of 2x4 hardwood held together at the top with some 8mm SWR also for the block and tackle to swing off. Yes.... and I can even pop the bonnet and bash the linkages back into place when they jam ππ pretty embarrassing at a set of traffic lights tho π Not quite as embarrassing when stalling the old galant at the lights with a cactus starter motor and having to jump out with a hammer and give it the old 3 knocks on the solenoid to loosen the bushes up so it'll start again lol

I remember learning to drive all those years ago... I'd driven a few floor-shifts so when a guy at work asked if I could drive a manual I asked for the keys. I sat in the driver's seat, looked at the floor to find no type of shifter, and looked over at him. He was p*ssing himself laughing. Smartass.
I did like that ute though... I've always had a soft spot for WB Holdens of all body types.

Never driven one.
The stick is just in a different position, I'll be fine.

Never driven one. The stick is just in a different position, I'll be fine. Lol except for knowing which gears are where π not many have a diagram showing you....trying to jam it from first into reverse instead of second doesn't do it much good!

It really shouldnt matter what the gearing configuration is or even if the gear change is on the floor, column or dashboard (yip driven one! Thats horrible...) 'cause 5 minutes spent checking the wagon out and its 'drive method' would be 5 minutes that might save you and yours later grief and /or lives...car crashes will still kill in the Apoc, lol...
