dirtdiva: Protestors have broken into the United States Capitol. Congress evacuated. Tear gas fired. Pence taken to protective location. Yes the SHTF today in the US. Emergency sirens went off in my community about 2 p.m. not sure why.

spinifex: I just can't see US republican voters getting violent over election results involving DT. Whats scary over there at the moment is a senate majority for the Dems!

dirtdiva: Spinifex not sure that there is not some Antifa etc.. mixed in there, JMHO. I have to wonder if they will burn down Washington DC tonight. Dem senate majority is a scary thing. Looks like they are clearing the building now as dark falls. Lots of tear gas :

doglover: I’m jealous guys! Winter is just getting going here and I miss warm weather. I’m in the south eastern US here but it gets a lot colder than I like. If I was rich I would travel the globe staying in spring weather for the rest of my life!

SA Hunter: Hi dl - we've had a mild summer so far - had a few days 30c, mainly mid 20c.

doglover: I have to do the math for Celsius vs Fahrenheit, lol. The winters here are mild by most people’s standards but I am a warm weather fan. It will be just below freezing here tonight. Not terrible but cold enough for a fire.
Jan 13, 2021 11:18:46 GMT 10
SA Hunter: Finally starting to warm up here - going to be 40c Sunday!

An interesting viewpoint on bunkers!
If one more prepper on the Discovery Channel DOOMSDAY BUNKERS and National Geographic DOOMSDAY PREPPERS lauds and pines on and on about bunkers, or speaks glowingly of a new bunker purchase and installation, I’m going to SCREAM!
What is it with this bunker mentality? Every bunker that I’ve seen makes a great root cellar, and a very roomy coffin. Doesn’t anyone recall that the actual use of a bunker has never done anything to prevent people getting at you? If anything they’ve made it easier to find and bury you…
So from that I gather they don't have a bunker and don't think anyone should due to bulldozers and grenades
I find articles such as this useful but they never seem to offer any viable options or alternatives to what they are saying is a bad idea.
Now I don't disagree that if one isn't careful they could very easily become your tomb as there are lot of pitfalls around poorly built and designed underground shelters both man made and natural
I've personally witnessed some very good examples of shelter fails where ground water has flooded them or the ground shifted and cracked everything but I have also seen some very well built shelters with escape tunnels that came out a long way from the actual shelter using the natural lay of the land to cover your escape

The last article "to cover the bunker up you can plant local fauna" right, would you like me to glue a deer to the roof of it? 😂
Seeing some of the bunkers that are put in on prepper shows gives me chills as a lot don't appear to have any other exit apart from the main one. F*ck getting stuck underground in one of those! I would like to dig a root cellar here, but wouldn't plan on hiding in it long term. And it would definitely have more than one exit!!
