There is a lot of news on the magnetic field shift, and massive acceleration in change. It has potential to cause navigation error's. It is also weakening in intensity which makes earth vulnerable to CME and general space geomagnetic storms. There is ancillary evidence that it can affect earthquake and volcanic activity which are currently increasing in activity and scale.

Bah!...my compass has been waving back and forth for years, lol...
But seriously I read some years back that we are overdue for a pole reversal (not a role reversal Frosty so your safe!)...it apparently happens every once and awhile for a short period (a year or two I think) and then shoots back to the norm...Im still keeping ma compass!...

I'm waiting for the MSM to say: "The Russians did it!"
That's a good point spatial makes about the impact of space weather.

I read something last night about another magnetic point in the middle of the ocean that is bad enough that aircraft and satellites avoid it because it stuffs with their electronics and has opened up a hole in the atmosphere allowing extra radiation and possibly CME to enter it.

Magnetic pols through geological time have had numerous flipps/reversals north and south. Iron particles in volcanic rocks like lava align with magnetic direction at formation then solidify and become frozen in time. As with everything it is time scale and rate of change. Like climate change it acknowledged that it occurred in the past, but the say the changes were slow and there was time to adapt. In reality these things occur very quickly. Magnetic pole reversal is occurring much more rapidly than predicted, while the change occurs magnetic fields weaken, wild fluctuations and can go to zero leaving the earth very vulnerable. The spinning molten iron core of the earth is doing wierd things with potential for major disruption on earth surface.
