A couple notes on this thought......
Last winter or early spring we listened to a audio book by James Wesley Rawles about the invasion of Australia by Muslim Indonesia. Can't remember the title, but you can find it.
Canadian national elections are this fall. The Canadian ambassador to China, was appointed by the in place Canadian liberals. This ambassador sent a note to the Chinese government saying if the existing liberal government looses the election this fall it will not be in the best interest of China. Just who in hell is this guy working for anyway ??
This is the same Chinese government who stopped buying Canadian agriculture product, in my opinion for any excuse to renegotiate prices.
So it would seem, in many countries existing embedded politicians with agendas for the benefit of other countries will cause problems from within for the nations they are supposed to be serving.
Or is my BS meter set too sensitive ??

I don't get too excited about the big picture, because we only get to see a tiny part of it, and have no control over what happens.
I focus on the little picture, which is the impact on my family and myself. I don't really care if an armed aggressor is Chinese, Indo, Aussie, Muslim, Christian or Athiest. They all bleed the same.

I think there are 8 million fighting aged males and females in Australia. Make them all join the Reserves, give them a rifle and a uniform to take home, and any aggessor nation will have serious problems if they invade. 2) At least half those of fighting age will turn their rifles on the other half due to their alternate loyalties which are driven by their ethnic and religious origins! We can thank the promoters of our multiculty utopia for this. Only nations with a strictly genous population, culture and values can make these defence arrangements viable! Er ... have you seen the US Military? Or remember the Soviet Union? Are there any less h0m0genous militaries?

Russians are vastly dominated by white European / Slavic ethnicity and culture both US and Russia are very racist with white Europeans being the dominant tribe at this point in time, that's why it works in US and Russia! In Australia we have fully drunk the Kool Aid turned soft kokk and are now locked in a downward spiral just like UK, NZ, Canada, South Africa etc etc.

China has been busy paving it's way around the world setting up major infrastructure Ports, airports, etc that could also be used for military purposes. Here are the ports that they either control or are investing huge cash into knowing that the local governments will fault on the loans and then China takes ownership of it... Here is an interactive map showing where they are splashing billions around the world on projects.. www.aiddata.org/china-project-locations

I'm not convinced these assets will be of any benefit to them if push comes to shove.
For instance, Darwin port would most likely be denied to the Chinese owners in any conflict by the ADF or the US Marine Corp detachmemt there.
Just because they own it doesn't mean they get to use it if conflict breaks out.

Just remember, we have already held several joint exercises with People's Liberation Army on Australian soil! The treachery and effwittery of our senior booboocrats and Politigrubs has no limits!!
