"Apocalypse is well-nigh impossible. We’re like ants: We’re vulnerable to being killed en masse, but the species will survive because, like ants, we’re numerous and dispersed. No matter how many supposedly humanity-ending threats you hurl—literally, in the case of ballistic missiles—humans will continue to crawl the Earth." qz.com/1716016/why-humans-will-outlive-climate-change-and-nuclear-war/

An interesting point of view. Not sure I agree with the simplicity of his mathematical reasoning.
Also WW3 will last waaaaaay longer than just a thermonuclear exchange. The survivors will likely still have to contend with running a conventional war for many years in the aftermath. There will still be leaders controlling armies and issuing orders for combat. There will still be surviving civilians that must be starved into submission. I also think there are ways that the bulk of the population on the planet can be sent back to a 1920 type way of life. Resource depletion being high on that list.

I think it's good to hear alternative views & reasoning about how certain events will pan out. None the less it still boils down to how will those outcomes he describes affect you personally. Do you just accept that your time is up if they start tossing nukes around and you live in one of the top 10,000 populated cities ?... I think not.
Humanity might not end but you still need to be prepared for major change and disruption to life and logistics as you know it.

I'm 100% certain that the Spinifex Cadre will still be toddling along after the nuclear marshmallow party. Be interesting to see how we go when Jakarta rolls out its annexation of Australia during the geopolitical mayhem that follows. They have a history of doing that kind of thing.
Might have to requisition a trawler and steam it to a new location.

By the way, just to be clear, when I said "you " in my last post that was a reference to the generic broader population rather than you specifically Spinifex.

Heh, heh ... yep. The classic 'you' as in 'we'.

By the time Indonesia try to lay claim, we'll probably be completely owned by China.
