Corona planned years ago ?
Take a look at the legislation the Government brought in to contain Coronavirus. It was prepared years ago. The end game is revealed The mob in Canberra thought that they could slip this one in on us.
Is this a mad prediction ??

be handy if the guy actually presented the evolutionary and revision process of the previous acts so that the average person could see and understand that these laws actually go way back much further and like a lot of policies they are whats classed as an organic document so it evolves and adapts as society changes and grows just like social values Laws and controls from back in the 1930s would not fit into today's modern world
The last true major update and overhaul of the Australian pandemic plan was published as a white paper in 2006 and it acknowledged that there had to be some major changes and some very unpopular decisions made or there was no way Australia could have any hope of effectively even in a limited sense combating either a bio weapon or a pandemic/epidemic
At the time H5N1 was used as disease X as the case study as its pretty a much worse case scenario and it basically found that with a global pandemic involving H5N1 Australia being unable to receive aid from outside as everyone else was dealing with the same problem pretty much collapsed within as little as 2 months apart from Tasmanian due to it special quarantine status that means no one in and no one out
basically it went like this hospitals were overwhelmed in the 1st 72 hours by the end of the 1st week there was 1.7 million hospital admissions due to the virus and out of those nearly half would die in the 1st week by the second week hospitals Australia wide had basically collapsed and shut their doors to anything apart from emergency like child birth or accidents anyone with the flu got sent home to either get better or die at this point infrastructure started to falter as more than half the working population was absent from work due to illness or fear so the military had to be deployed to move resources around like fuel and food and escort medical teams to hospitals by week 3 everything was on a downward spiral and over 4 million people had died the economy globally had completely collapsed and basic service were no longer functional by week 4 basic law and order was no longer viable due to the complete lack of personnel and resources even with military support
by the end of the 6 week Tasmania was being used as the last bastion where the Australian way of life may prevail while all the other major cities had basically collapsed into graveyards stripped and looted regional areas held out for longer but they struggled due to the lack of government support
in the end it was a conservative guess of 8 million Australians dead either directly or indirectly due to the virus and left around 4 trillion dollars in damages to the country not counting the stock markets the path to recovery was going to be very long and brutal as so much had been damaged and lost
after this scenario played out the government knew they had to make some major changes to try and prevent this some of those changes seem draconian and brutal but the problems is we also have to accept the fact that people don't always do the right thing and so sometimes the law needs to have an iron fist to contain those that actively want to do the wrong thing just like people that go around deliberately infecting others with STDs or HIV we should not need laws to say don't do that but people still do anyway because misery loves company
So those heavy handed tactics might come over the top but when you have some scum bag going around spitting on stuff to infect others and don't worry people will yeah drag the f**ker away and shove them in a cell with other like minded people for 5 years
important to note also once those laws are enacted there is a sundown clause to them so they cant be in place indefinitely

Hey if a dinky show like the Simpsons could foretell corona virus 20 years ago and the impact it would have on China and the US of course the government knew

The WHO and other orgs have been warning for ages another pandemic will happen, it’s only a matter when not if. They were going on about needing to prepare and stuff. But like all things, it’s a problem that’s put off, it’s the not now, we’ll do it later, or it’s too expensive, or what we are doing is enough, we’ll work it out, we’ll be fine.
Its easily dismissed because it’s rare, even though the impact will be very high, the chances of it happening “tomorrow” are low, so it’s neglected.

This is normal though. How often have you seen someone clearly sick at work, yet still comes in and management doesn't send them home?

This is someone who was told to self isolate "Dr Veitch said the man was advised to self-isolate between the testing and receiving his results, but he did not comply and "went to work the next day". 'Health authorities say a man in Hobart who contracted coronavirus did not follow instructions to self-isolate, instead going to work at a major hotel.' while it annoys me when people come to work sick and put others at risk from exposure this is a case where the guy was told to stay home until he got his results back but instead he went to work , to nightclubs and school. Its this behavior that hands the keys to the government to roll out tighter regulations because hey you guys cant be trusted to do the right thing

Can't take sick leave if your employer keeps you as a casual to prevent you having access to sick leave.

exactly. most of the times it is a rice bowl kinda reason which is very valid. I think as we move towards a gig economy, this will only get worse.
in some cultures and companies, employees are lauded for being sick and still turning up for work. to the close-minded bosses (esp. Asian ones), that shows the employee's committment to the company.
which is silly. I heard locally in sg now, there are still some bosses whom have not been enlightened. I feel sad for these folks.

Exactly like that in many Chinese offices! Sick as a dog, but still turning up for work shows your passion for the job. The fact that you're doped up to the eyeballs on flu meds and coughing all over anyone doesn't matter. In fact, the Wuhan media were extolling how dedicated the local Communist dance troupe was for turning up to some sort of gala despite all being sick (this was one of the articles that really brought the sickness to the attention of the rest of the country).

Can't take sick leave if your employer keeps you as a casual to prevent you having access to sick leave. Can't employ people as permanent staff if union risk = can't get rid of deadwood.
I paid staff extra (9% IIRC) to have the option of cleaning out underperformers. Worth every cent.

small price to pay for the option, especially if you have performance review schemes that demonstrate incompetence and effort to re-train staff but doesn't suit the pace of your company. but not every country has unions or unions are controlled by the gov
