Got this weird add showing up in social media from Commonwealth Bank, of all places. I don't know whether the cynic in me thinks it's because they're preparing all those hit by the recession to pay their mortgage rather than their electricity, or they're already 'pricing in' a change to digital currency

It's all about trying to look like a caring corporate citizen, instead of money grubbing filth who charge dead people insurance premiums.

I saw that ad too, and considered posting it ... might just be because some someones working in their marketing dept is aware of what's coming in terms of power instability, it doesn't take a genius to see it
Also painting the bank as "on your side" helps if you want people to work with you on partially repaying loans instead of hiding and running away

Perhaps to sell more insurance. Food only safe for 4 hours in fridge, but can claim from some insurances. I have had very bad dealings with commbank insurance, totally corrupt. www.commbank.com.au/articles/home-insurance/power-outage-tips.htmlhttps://www.commbank.com.au/articles/home-insurance/power-outage-tips.htmlinsurance. 1 The Emergency Preparedness website is jointly supported by the Victorian and Australian Governments. 2 Victoria State Government - Health.Vic ‘Food safety during power outages’ This article is intended to provide general information of an educational nature only. Banks always want to pretend to be your friend. The only time they ever are your 'friend' is when you are giving them money and don't want to speak to them.
