Maybe a little obvious this one and it needs a little work on editing

The 1st is St Marks Square, Venice. The 4th is, of course , the Eiffel tower, Paris

Na, that's in the Eungella national park a few hours from me The pool at the base of the waterfall is swimmable and rather cold water even in the hot weather we are having as it fall from the top of the mountain.

I've pretty much lost all my photos from the past 10-15 years, I went full digital and a few key hard drive crashes coupled with some bad data management mean no photos...
I did however, while going through all my parents stuff this weekend find all my old photos from my teenage years and most of them still have their negatives! Coupled with a scanner I have a lot of work ahead of me. I also found a couple boxes of my grandfathers photography equipment, included were more slides than I could count and a couple projectors. I never met the man but hopefully I can through his photography. I think I need to force myself to print off photos so I don't go through the same thing again and leave nothing for the next generation.
I also found his 8mm video camera, an Eumig C3, made in the 50s.

Lovely Paranoia! I bought this little machine a while back that has a viewer to view negatives and photos with. You can then scan them from the machine and it transfers to your computer!

I have been remiss with backups as well. Up to a couple of years ago I have backups on CD/DVD but now everything is on a single external drive. Yikes! I have been scanning old pics one and off for a few years, not many to do now

For those with a heap of old negs/slides, you can get a good scanner for bugger all these days, when I started I bought a $4000 Nikon scanner, it broke last year so I got a $300 Epson flatbed with film option, frankly I reckon it's just as good, certainly well good enough for the purpose.

Oh, and having scanned everything I plan to make a few books of a selection much like Paranoia said, these will not be dependent on any technology except my eyes
