Here's a couple of books that might be useful of course 'only' if no qualified medical practitioner is available. What's good about them is that they're all backed with science Physician's Desk Reference (PDR) - has a giant list of pharmaceutical drugs listed in there. PDR® for Nonprescription Drugs - uses, contra-indicators and so on for over the counter medication. PDR® for Herbal Medicines - list of 500+ herbs with color pictures backed by science and of course contra-indicators and side effects. How much of a gold mind would that be, particularly if it's backed up with the herbs growing in the garden if everything disappeared! A source of second hand ones at reasonable prices with 'free' international shipping : www.betterworldbooks.com/
