There's a series of BBC experimental acheology that show life and how people did things in different ages. For the prepper there's LOTS of tidbits of info about alternative ways of doing things, life without power/refrigeration, some hints on crop production and animal husbandry.
For instance in Tudor times: 80% of the caloric intake and nutrition was from 8 pints of beer and bread!
Here's a list of the various series, I've seen almost all of them and whilst I'm a bit of a fan of history, I'm sure many of you will find it interesting and potentially useful. Most are up on Youtube, download or even ABC shops.
