I have to think, here in the north, it will be somewhat the same as the US.. If one wins the other side will make a fuss, if the other wins, the other side will make a fuss just like the US..
However it will likely only be in the high density liberal areas, Toronto, Vancouver ..spit.. and the like who view themselves as trendy, hip and all like LA, NYC, DC and other like places.. But only during nice weather...
We just had an unscheduled provincial election where the NDP (democrat equivalent) got a majority so they didn't have to pander to the green party to align with to keep power.. God help us now they are on there own.. Unfortunately a place like Vancouver ..spit.. has enough people to out vote the entire rest of the province..

Owing to Brexit I stepped up what I'd been storing so personally it won't affect me much. However, the democrats have already tried to interfere with Brexit, firstly Obama said he would put us to the back of the queue for any deals! cheeky barsteward Now Nasty Pelosi is threatening similar if the democrats win because she doesn't understand the Withdrawal Bill and how that affects the Good Friday agreement. Not that we want their chlorinated Chicken, genetically modified beans or hormone inflated beef. Wall Street is obviously putting pressure on the senate because London is looking like a better economic centre for some major players. So it may affect the country, but frankly, it's not something I have any control over so I'm not getting too bent out of shape over it. I would just love to be a fly on the wall of the house of senate when they received the reply from Downing Street if the US government tried their bully-boy tactics. Dominic Raab has already told that woman to get her nose out of our politics, so I reckon the response could be quite fruity. With regard to what I think of the election preamble, well, it's our election on steroids. The left here tried pretty much the same tactics that the left are using over in the USA and we all know how that ended. The Conservative party had it's biggest majority for years. I personally think Donald Trump will win a second term, not because he's wanted, but because the alternative is unbearable. Whether he will actually want to continue in the job after the roasting he has had is another discussion altogether

I personally think Donald Trump will win a second term, not because he's wanted, but because the alternative is unbearable. This is my take on it too. The Dems have aligned themselves with the far left. Trump has distanced himself from white sup groups, but Biden has not distanced himself from black sup groups and various antifa types. That would scare the hell out of anyone living in an inner city area (areas that normally vote Dem). Number one reason I hope Trump wins is that he has been diffusing conflicts overseas rather than sending more troops to yet another country. It's funny watching the latte marxists online who complain about the US empire (but the CCP empire and territorial expansion is ok), but can't come to terms with the fact that Trump is withdrawing troops whilst the Dems want to keep it going. I don't care that he's an arrogant twat. Most politicians are, they just hide it better.

If your immediate wellbeing is directly impacted by the results of an election in another (remote) country then you are doing something very wrong! US is the proverbial canary in the coal mine, observe, learn and enjoy the show but don't permit it to F**k you up!

It will impact my stores of popcorn, Cuban cigars and single malt, aged whisky, so I better stock up.

I did have a thought that 'the greatest country in the world' looks like it is about to tear itself apart! But I suspect it is mostly a media exaggeration so no real change. Although you guys do like to kill each other off a bit, so who knows.
I see no real change. Trade between the countries isn't much. My only concern with internal unrest in any country is it can lead to 'jingoistic' events like Kuwait and the Falklands. 'Uh oh, things are bad here... I know, let's invade China to distract everyone!' God forbid, but you can't rely on the sense of politicians.

Maybe here in Oz we already ARE feeling the effects of potential US turmoil ... refer to the 'Ammo Shortage' thread! Perhaps that is partly fueled by US folks stocking up for a big post election event?
What if right-wingers go in and burn down silicon valley and its resident left oligarchs to bring them to heel? Heaven forbid we suffer a shortage of iCrap !

Will we see some kind of 'Centre Extremist' Party that squishes both the far left and far right and just gets on with doing things in a sensible fashion?

Centrist parties tend to drift to the left then die. Australian democrats were the last to try it.

Not sure. Won't affect my preps as I try to buy local Aussie goods before overseas. Ammo might be an issue, but local gun shop just had a pallet of rimfires delivered from a back order from months ago.
If Biden wins, I can see the stock market plummet, and we will follow obediently into the chasm. If Trump wins, the market might rise a bit more. Not sure how much more it can expand before it goes "pop". Regardless, Trump will get the blame.
Economically, I'm not sure - I think our trade will continue between us ok. There is a lot going on behind the scenes we are probably not privvy to, and I'd have to hope that the Govt will do what is best for us.
Honestly, I don't really care who wins any more - just have to roll with whatever life throws my way. I continue to prepare as best as I can for what I see as could befall us here.

Even before COVID, the Chinese economy had been slowing for over two years, and people were starting to grumble. Now, we seem to have anyone who had a government job or who is involved in producing COVID related gear is doing OK, but unemployment apparently now sits at about 7% of the population (whole population, not the working population). If things keep going south, then attacking Taiwan or others becomes more imminent due to the need for a distraction for the populace.

7% unemployment is pretty bad for China. Given the rising wealth and low birth rate you'd expect a very low unemployment rate.
