The list below sets out some of the potential frontier risks that are on the minds of risks analysts;
Accidental war - An inter-state skirmish escalates to war as governments fail to control action in the absence of accurate information. Weakened multilateralism leads to failure to contain. America?
Anarchic uprising - Young activists, fed up with corruption, inequality and suffering, mobilize against elites. AI-powered social media is exploited to spread disinformation, fomenting social chaos. America?
Brain-machine interface exploited - Companies, governments or individuals utilize burgeoning “mind-reading” technology to extract data from individuals for commercial or repressive purposes. Um, is this a sci fi movie?
Collapse of an established democracy - A democracy turns authoritarian through the progressive hollowing out of the body of law. A legal rather than a violent coup erodes the system, with knock-on effects on other democratic systems. America maybe?
Geomagnetic disruption - A rapid reversal of the Earth’s geomagnetic poles generates destabilizing consequences for the biosphere and human activity.
Gene editing for human enhancement - Governments begin classified genetic engineering programmes. A class of people is born with genetic capabilities better suited for space, Arctic, or deep-sea survival, setting off a genetic arms race between geopolitical rivals with undetermined ethical consequences. Is there something we haven't been told???
Neurochemical control - Malicious use of pharmaceutical neurochemicals aims to control adversaries. Governments begin to use these drugs for non-lethal law enforcement.
Permafrost melt releases ancient microorganisms - A warming planet leads to permafrost melt in the Arctic. An ancient virus, unknown in modern science, is released into the air, soil, and water systems.
Deployment of small-scale nuclear weapons - New technology allows for proliferation of low-yield warheads, blurring deterrence frameworks and leading to global nuclear war. NK? China?
If this is what they are worried about, should we? Curious as to your opinions on this.

People ... this has been, and is continuing to, happen. This is not the future ... it is the now and the last 15 years. It is gaining momentum in every 'western democracy'.
We have been moving into an Autocratic Rule phase for years.

Fun Fact: YouTube has now put one of my favorite Rage Against The Machine videos in the "Must sign in" category. A year ago ... anyone could view it any time they liked. Now they are keeping tabs.
And as the title of that video says: "Wake Up!"

How about sucktube as a collaboration between youtube and mark suckerberg? Both are fine authoritarian monopolies.

And as the title of that video says: "Wake Up!" RATM sing pro-communist lyrics. "Everything for everybody and nothing for yourselves." is one example. There's quite some irony that the leftist cancel culture has begun to bite some of their own.

Yep. Large parts of Social Media are beginning to look like Nuremberg rallies in their bitter intent on re-enforcing (and more lately flat-out enforcing) particular types of Uniformity.

The sound volume on them is double that of the main video, plus the banner ads which keep cropping up over the top of the video. Looks like they are trying to make the free version so horrible that people pay for the premium product. Anyone got a good alternative to youtube?

Rumble - similar to Youtube, but not as restrictive.

There's quite some irony that the leftist cancel culture has begun to bite some of their own. RATM are certainly anti-Authoritarian. Not sure about pro-communist - although they do use their iconology. And yes ... the Irony is rich. Although YouTube IS now an Authoritarian instrument. So ... of course they'd restrict and monitor access to Anti-Authoritarian content. I think its the riot images YouTube has a problem with. The actual music is still freely accessible.

Unfortunately, nothing works for the mobile app
