Just wondering if anyone has included the use of a plane in their preparations. I'm a glider pilot have flown motored as well. We don't own a plane but occasionally I have ideas about it. Just worried about all the happy shooters that might want to take me out when low flying - which would be most of the time to save fuel.

People are probably more likely to track you to where you land rather than shoot you out of the sky. If you've got enough fuel for a plane, you've got more than anyone else would in a SHTF scenario.

Agree with Austemplar. A plane would be like a magnet for people, even if not to rob you they would see you as being help for them.
I think though it could be very handy at the start to get you quickly and relatively safely out of a populated area and to your remote location, if you have one. After that though I wouldn't use it unless to leave for good so as to prevent drawing attention to your location.

nearly swapped one of my harleys for an ultralight a couple of months ago the missus put her foot down and said no,reckons I push the boundaries enough on land in the GT and Harleys.Couldn't agrue with her she was right.Never said no to me getting a new toy before, the brain is still scheming though to come up with a good argument.
