On 15 January, scientists from the United States’ National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and the United Kingdom’s Defence Geographic Centre (DGC) were set to update the World Magnetic Model, which describes the planet’s magnetic field and underlies all modern navigation, from the systems that steer ships at sea to Google Maps on smartphones, as the current model appeared to be inaccurate, Nature journal reported. sputniknews.com/science/201901111071383462-earth-magnetic-field-acting-strange/

I was just about to suggest that "climate change" is to blame, until I read the sentence, "Scientists are planning to update the model, however it might be problematic since the release of the World Magnetic Model has been postponed until 30 January due to the ongoing US government shutdown."
Of course - it's Trump's fault. Surely the magnetic field would be fine if he'd just give up on building the border wall...
