yep, they are trying to provoke a war with public opinion
in reality, Russia was requested to stabilize the region, and done just that, notice on the first days of Russian "occupation" there were very few photos of Russian soldiers with magazines in their aks??

well, the Ukranian Prime Minister IS still the Prime Minister, and did ask for Russian assistance. He wants closer ties with Russia ( they are tied together for centuries as a nation/people) but the opposition (minority) want closer ties with the West. Putin is only responding to the legitimate prime minister's call for help.
Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and Mexico or Canada asked Russia to build bases and missile sites on their borders with the US!! US would invade and legitimise it as national security. It's an internal matter, and not the West's business.
I think deep down Obama yearns to be like Putin, a strong leader with a sense of destiny and national pride, a no holds barred approach, and a direction for his country.
