Damn computer ate my post, will have to do over..
Sweetie and I were just talking, on our next town trip we will have to time it for late afternoon, or so to be able to tour a neighborhood known as "Candy Cane Lane"... The an area were everyone decorates front yards and houses for Christmas... Most are very well put together displays.. A few that are garage sale items and decorations on after holiday sale...
My favorite is a blow up Santa on the roof of a big 2 1/2 story house with Santa emitting a yellow stream of lights arching to the ground... Good humor..
Truely a neighborhood where in December the hydro bill can be more than the mortgage.. Well worth the time to view...
What, how do you decorate there being mid summer to you.. ?? ??

I used to get into the light decorating, even won the local competition a couple of times for the business category, but then the usual winner started back up again after a break for a couple of years, and she puts up thousands of dollars of lights and displays. So now I only put up a couple of strings of icicle lights to keep the missus happy, and because I hate having to pack everything up in the new year lol

We have a string of lights out the front of the house, but we're pretty low key to be honest. I'm too much of a klutz to be climbing up and down ladders!

I'm too much of a klutz to be climbing up and down ladders! --- --- Frankly, a lot of people here do the June, September thing here... They take down the old string of lights in June when the yard is free of snow and firm for the ladder.. Then put up the new string in September.. This they bought on after Christmas sales... NOT a good idea to try to string lights with a meter or more of snow on the ground..
